ITAKO’S TENT (trailer)

SYNOPSIS:

Every October, hundreds of pilgrims travel from all over Japan to visit with Itako—traditionally blind, all-female shamans who communicate with the dead in tarpaulin tents outside Bodai-ji temple in rural Osorezan. Through improvisational song, she connects the pilgrim with their deceased ancestors and loved ones.
